Bacchus has its own vineyard, where wine is produced in a sustainable way with respect for biodiversity and nature. Of course, we serve our wines (and other local wines) in our restaurant!

The restaurant offers local delicacies with a modern twist. We honor tradition with organic meat dishes but also offer a wide range of vegetarian and vegan options, which is easy with the abundance of vegetables, fruits, nuts and mushrooms that grow here!

Not to mention the traditional cheeses France is known for…

Luckily, the estate also offers ample opportunity for exercise with a pool, running track, hiking trails and yoga facilities. Enjoy the beauty of simplicity in the French countryside!

ABOUT US

When she first visited Bergerac in 2009, Sanne Bolkenstein, commercial director in IT companies and wine collector from the Netherlands, fell in love with the region, the tranquility, and the wines! Her parents bought a house here and reside ever since in Bergerac for the most part of the year. Sanne and her wife Ilana visit often and spend their summer holidays here with friends.

Yannick Langlade is an executive hospitality operator and has devoted his entire life to the hotel industry both in France and in other countries. His experience in developing tourism real estate led him to developing his own hospitality concept at Bacchus.

"Together, we embarked on this adventure to promote local tourism in Bergerac"

YOUR
OPPORTUNITY!

Bacchus will open its doors in 2026, but we will start planting our vines soon, so we can enjoy the first harvest in 2027

We aim to be more than a holiday destination: we want to offer an experience, and we offer you to become part of that experience by joining the Bacchus community!

Joining the Bacchus community means you’ll lease and pay one time at least 6 vines, which harvest you can enjoy for 15 consecutive years.

As a wine enthusiast, you can become as much involved in the wine making process as you want, but for sure you’ll be updated on the progress of your vines through our quarterly newsletter.

Bacchus Bergerac wine

Bacchus Bergerac will create its own organic wine collection (Certified by AB, Agriculture
Biologique and certified by FR-BIO-10 Agriculture UE) and will have a small vineyard for its own exclusive wine production as part of our collection of wines. With the support of our strategic partner, who is a well-known, experienced wine-maker of top quality Bergerac wines, we are developing our vineyard as of this year.

Given the limited size of the vineyard we have chosen to concentrate our efforts on an organic AC Bergerac red wine.

As all AC Bergerac red wines, our wine will be a blend of two or 3 grapes ( Cabernet Franc, Merlot and/or Cabernet Sauvignon), using the traditional technique of blending before the vinification.

We expect to create a full-bodied, smooth wine, which will be ready to drink after 2 years.

Moreover, you’ll be invited to the exclusive opening weekend with your partner of choice to immerse yourself in the full Bacchus experience:

2 nights in our hotel, breakfast included, and the opening dinner in our restaurant accompanied with local wines!

Together, we will decide which wines will get a permanent spot on our menu. Of course, you can take your wines of choice home after the weekend. Don’t miss out on this unique opportunity to become a French wine maker, meet like-minded people in the Bacchus community, and be the first to enjoy the Bacchus experience!

WINE TOURISM
IN BERGERAC

Although the region has a long history of wine making and is bordering famous wine regions like Bordeaux and St Emilion, the Bergerac wines are still relatively unknown.

As wine lovers and enthusiasts of this hidden gem, Sanne and Yannick would like to change that!

France especially and Europe in general are major places of wine production. Nevertheless the tourism around the wine is underdeveloped, artisanal and mostly consists of vineyard visits and wine tasting. We would like to offer many activities around wine, heritage, nature and well-being, sustainable development, and European domestic tourism.

The wine activities are managed by professional local wine producers through strategic cooperations.

We want to create unforgettable memories for our guests in domestic destinations without crossing the world by plane. The food and drinks served are gourmet combining the pleasure of taste and the principles of well-being.

The customer experience is at the core of the concept of this boutique resort
SUSTAINABILITY

Out of love for the region, we are passionate about preserving it for future generations. This is why we source most of our products locally, produce eco-friendly wine and treat our estate with respect for nature and biodiversity.

We aim to be climate-neutral by using solar energy, collecting and reusing rainwater and growing our own fruits and vegetables. Instead of traveling far away, we try to convince adventurous Europeans to discover this gem close to home!
